This was my third favourite artist. I found the work to be really creative and interesting and each piece is completely different to the others. Even though some of the brooches are very simple they have a certain uniqueness to them which is what made me like them. They came across very quirky and colourful which made me want one. My favourite thing about Julie Matthews work is that she has used buttons in all of them. The buttons are all different shapes and sizes which make it really interesting to look at. All of her brooches are very harmonious in colour which makes them more likeable as they're not screaming out for attention. Personally I liked the heart brooches more then the ones made completely of buttons as I felt a lot of people could just stick a few buttons together which was my only negative thought towards her work. Overall though, my favourite piece by her was definitely the small bird (top right hand corner) as it was cute, colourful and completely different to all the other ones she has produced. This was actually the first one i noticed which is why its my favourite, I find it just stands out more than all the others.
