Ewan Walton

Ewan Walton only went as far as A level with his education but has been painting for about 5-6 years now. He is currently working on paintings to go in an exhibition, the pieces I saw were focused on skies. He enjoys his detailed work but it can take many months to produce so you need to have patience, but its worth it in the end.
This piece of artwork really stood out to me because of the amount of detail that has gone into the it. The closer you look at the painting the more detail and different colours you saw, it was really unbelievable how realistic it was. Ewan Walton has used the oil paints to create different textures within the painting to give it more of a real feeling. When I first saw the painting from a distance I actually questioned if it was a painting or a photograph. For this piece of work he used lots of different colours of oil paints, whereas some of his more recent work he has been trying to only use the primary colours. He says its a good exercise to do as its more challenging than just getting the colour from a ready mixed tube.
